High School Achievements

Huntley has demonstrated repeated success in encouraging excellence in both tennis and academics at the High School Level.

Nerinx Hall
  • 1999 to 2006, assistant coach at Nerinx Hall H.S girl’s tennis team

  • 2007 to 2013, head tennis coach, Nerinx Hall girl’s tennis team

  • 2007, took entire Nerinx Hall tennis team to MSHSAA State Championship, 1st time in NXH school history

  • (News Clip) At Nerinx Hall, Huntley took over the Head Varsity Coach position in 2007, after having spent several years as the assistant coach.  He took over a team that, on paper, should have had a .500 season at best, due to losing half of the previous year’s team to graduation.  However, Huntley saw things differently. He instilled a “can-do” philosophy in his players, and coached them to new heights, establishing several Nerinx Hall “firsts” along the way. A short list includes:

  • 1st place in League

  • 1st Place in Parkway Doubles Tournament

  • Qualified for Team Districts, finishing 1st overall as a team  (1st time in Nerinx Hall history)

  • 1st place in Team Districts Playoffs (1st time in Nerinx Hall history)

  • 1st place in Team Regionals (1st time in Nerinx Hall history)

  • 1st place in Team Sectionals (1st time in Nerinx Hall history)

  • Went to State Championships as a team (1st time in Nerinx Hall history) and finished in 4th place.

  • Coached Pam and Leslie Ganer to 1st place finish in individual districts in doubles in 2007.  They finished 5th at state.

  • Huntley stresses the importance of academic excellence.  The entire varsity team at Nerinx Hall made the Honor Roll, another first in the school’s history.  Most of them are straight A students and take honors classes.

  • 2012, #1 singles player received scholarship to Truman College

Lutheran High School South
Sheridan High School
  • 2005 to 2010, Head Coach for LHSS

  • 2005 – 2007, Won the LHSS Invitational Tournament, three years in a row.

  • 2011, #1 Singles player from boy’s tennis team achieved scholarship to Missouri Baptist College

  • Spring of 2014 to present, joined the Sheridan High School Wyoming tennis team as one of their assistant coaches coaching both the boys and girls tennis team.

  • The boy’s team finished 7th place and the girl’s team finished 3rd in the WHSAA State Championship. Julia Fenn, our #1 girl’s single player won the singles championship for the 3rd year in a row and hope to winning it again for her fourth and final years in high school. If and when she does, she will be the first player to accomplish this feat in girl’s high school tennis in Wyoming.
